City kid or village kid?
More than half of the world's babies are born in cities — but not everywhere. Draw where a random newborn grows up, weighted by each country's real births and urban rate.
How the numbers work
Countries are drawn by their real share of annual births (UN WPP 2024). Income groups are the World Bank's four classifications; urban rates, fertility, life expectancy and internet use come from the same public datasets. Every number on this page is real.
